Wesley Health Care Center recently held one of six Wesley Seniors’ Art Programs focused on Van Gogh, Pollock and Picasso. These explorations of painting are led by artist and Wesley Health Care Center social worker, Kathy Prevost, who facilitates the painting series with approximately 20 senior learners in each program. Participants learn the biographical history of the three featured artists, see examples of and discuss each specific artist’s style and creative techniques, and create their own painting in the style of the artist.
Saratoga Arts made this program possible with an Arts Education Grant funded by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
