Updates for Families | Wesley Health Care Center

March 27,2024

Dear Residents, Family, and Staff of Wesley Health Care Center:

The WHCC currently has a total of seven positive COVID-19 cases (including Residents and Staff).

According to WHCC masking protocols, due to the total number of COVID-19 cases increasing above six cases, the masking status has been changed from GREEN to YELLOW status, effective 3/27/24.

FACILITY MASKING STATUS:  YELLOW STATUS

YELLOW STATUS = Masking is encouraged but not required

Definition of YELLOW STATUS: Masking is highly encouraged but not required all individuals entering the nursing home.

Masking requirements still in effect:

1) Due to a COVID-positive resident residing on 5 Springs, a surgical mask is required at all times when traveling to or working on this unit.

2) Due to a COVID-positive resident residing on 2 Hathorn, a surgical mask is required at all times when traveling to or working on this unit.

3) The NYS Department of Health Commissioner continues to declare influenza to be prevalent. Due to this, all staff members, students, providers, contractors, and volunteers who have not received the influenza vaccine must mask at all times while in the facility when the facility is not in RED status.

4) All staff members considered exposed to either a positive resident or staff COVID case are required to wear a surgical mask at all times while in the facility for 10 days following the date of exposure AND conduct routine testing on Day 1, Day 3 and Day 5 post-exposure through the Employee Health Office.
