In addition to skilled nursing and light care geriatrics, the Wesley Health Center offers specialized memory care for individuals in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease and chronic dementia. Designed to provide an increased level of security and assistance with daily activities, Wesley’s memory care community goes beyond traditional nursing care to support the specific needs of individuals with memory loss, and provide an enhanced quality of life.
Our compassionate team of caregivers are specially-trained in dementia care and are committed to providing your loved one with moments of pleasure, purpose and peace, while making measurable impacts on clinical and operational goals for their care. Our caregivers are always focused on the person first and the disease second, and are able to quickly respond and adapt to each resident’s changing needs.
Dedicated Memory Care Community
Located on the second floor of the Victoria Building in the Wesley Health Center, our secure memory care community is thoughtfully designed to support individuals with memory loss and prevent wandering. We provide 24-hour medication management by licensed nurses, as well as assistance with daily activities, and ensure a supportive, warm, home-like setting for residents to reconnect with family, friends, memories and interests. Therapeutic Programing
Memory care at The Wesley Community includes a variety of programs and outings specifically designed to support life enrichment and resident purpose, as well as a special therapy center program for residents with dementia. Established in 2015, the Alfred Z. Solomon Therapeutic Activity Center Program offers several strength-based stations, each with a familiar everyday object – jewelry, sewing materials, tools and puzzles – designed to engage the mind. Residents are encouraged to visit these stations and interact with the items.
