The Saratoga Springs Community Garden at Wesley

Bring Vegetables, Flowers and Laughter to Life

The Saratoga Springs Community Garden at Wesley has been a resounding success since it’s first year in 2012.

Community GardenSusan Bokan, a Saratoga Springs resident who discovered the happiness that vegetable and flower gardens can bring to life, managed to find the money and recruit the people needed to transform a wet, weedy bit of land next to Embury Apartments into a beautiful and productive haven for many. The Embury and Woodlawn residents join with folks from the greater Saratoga community who come to garden in the space. Many new friendships have begun as gardeners exchange tips and help one another.

The Community Garden has individual planting beds, some raised. Gravel paths, a pergola, a picnic table, and an easily accessible seating area make the garden a popular gathering spot.

A Harvest Dinner for all gardeners – Wesley campus residents and neighbors alike – takes place each autumn.

If you are interested in applying for gardening space, please contact Susan Bokan at susanbokan(at)gmail.com or 518-221-8142.
