Located at the northern tip of the Capital Region, The Wesley Community is just 10 miles north of the delightful community of Clifton Park. Recognized for its numerous parks and active senior community center, Clifton Park is a great place to visit and explore.
Residents in our independent senior living communities at Woodlawn Commons and the Embury Apartments are close enough to visit Clifton Park for its many retail stores, locally-owned shops and restaurants. In addition, the Clifton Park Senior Community Center hosts a variety of activities and trips designed to enrich the lives of the area’s senior population, including historic river boat tours and overnight excursions to Boston and New York City.
Every season provides a host of things to do in Clifton Park. Fresh apples, cider and donuts are ripe for the picking at the area orchards each fall, while visitors and locals alike enjoy winter sleigh rides, soup contests, singing competitions, entertainment and other activities during Clifton Park’s Annual Winterfest. During the summer, the outdoor performing arts stage at Clifton Common provides free entertainment on Wednesdays and Sundays.
For outdoor enthusiasts, the Vischer Ferry Nature and Historic Preserve features walking trails alongside an original section of the Erie Canal and towpath. Located on Riverview Road in Clifton Park, the 740-acre preserve is also adjacent to the Mohawk River.
